There are plenty of places online to find a golf course’s address, scorecard, green fees and official description.
That’s not really what this section of Weekend Golfers is for.
These are golf courses I’ve actually played, visited or, in some cases, experienced while caddying. The aim is to share what they’re really like from the perspective of an ordinary golfer rather than build another directory of every golf course in the country.
Some courses will have much more coverage than others.
Cumberwell Park is my home club, so over time you’ll find rounds, competitions, videos, photographs and experiences from its different courses, as well as increasingly detailed coverage of individual holes.
Other courses might simply have a review from a single visit or a series of videos from a round.
That’s fine. The amount of coverage should reflect the experience I’ve actually had there.
Cumberwell Park Golf Club
Cumberwell Park is my home golf club and the course you’ll find covered in the most detail on Weekend Golfers.
With five different nine-hole courses and a separate Par 3 Course, there’s plenty to explore. Rather than treating Cumberwell as a one-off course review, I’m building a growing record of playing there — including rounds, competitions, videos and hole-by-hole guides to the different courses.

Our Two Seasons at Westbury Golf Club
When Emma and I joined Westbury Golf Club, neither of us knew how important it would become in our golfing lives. For Emma, it was her first golf club and
Cumberwell Park
Cumberwell Park is where I currently play most of my golf, so naturally it’s becoming the most detailed course on Weekend Golfers.
Rather than treating it as somewhere I’ve visited once and reviewed, I’m building a record of actually playing there.
That includes the different nine-hole courses, the Par 3 Course, competitions, practice rounds, different tees and the occasional good decision amongst plenty of questionable ones.

I Won My First Competition at Cumberwell Park
Winning golf competitions doesn’t happen very often, at least not for me, so when it does happen I think it’s probably worth recording. On Sunday 6th September, I won my
Courses I’ve Caddied
Playing a course isn’t the only way I’ve experienced golf.
I’ve also spent time caddying, including with PGA Professional Chris Tyson. That gives a very different view of a golf course, from watching tournament golf from inside the ropes, seeing the decisions a professional makes and experiencing how a course changes under competition conditions.
As that part of Weekend Golfers grows, I’ll include those courses here too, while keeping them clearly distinguished from courses I’ve personally played.
A Growing Record
This isn’t intended to become a finished list.
When I play somewhere new, revisit an old course, film a round or simply learn something useful about a hole I’ve played dozens of times, there’s an opportunity to add to it.
Some courses may eventually have detailed hole-by-hole coverage. Others might always have one article.
The common thread is simple:
we’ve actually been there.
